Knowing Yourself

Knowing yourself, your strengths and any areas you need to work on is often the first step towards developing a well thought out and considered career plan.

Your career plans may be different depending on your stage of life. You may be at high school interested in TVET programs, or have just finished high school. You may be looking to gain extra skills for an existing job or looking for a career change after many years in a particular area. Whatever the stage, your career decisions and action plans will be unique to you.

When making any career plans it is important to consider a number of key questions which depend on how well you know yourself. These include:

  • Where are you at now?
  • What goals you would like to achieve?
  • What your interests?
  • What are your likes and dislikes?
  • What things are important to you?
  • What are your existing skills?
  • What skills do you need to learn to help you achieve your goals?

At WSI TAFE we offer a myriad of courses in many different industry areas, there’s bound to be something that suits you. If you are considering studying at WSI TAFE and need help with career planning, please contact the career counsellors today for a chat or to book an appointment.
